CHCH EQ photos
The project to record in photographs, the impact upon Christchurch of the earthquakes of 2010-2011 and the recovery from them, began a few days after the 4 September 2010 earthquake. The project received considerable support from the National Library who commissioned Ross to photograph the impact on Christchurch from the earthquakes for 4 days each month. Those photos were contributed to the National Library’s National Digital Heritage Archive (NDHA) to ensure they will be available to future generations.
The work to share the photos (those taken for the National Library commission and many more taken in our own time) was done by Moira and Ross. We believe that information should be open and freely shared, wherever possible, so our photos are widely available on the internet, using either photo sharing toola, or Facebook pages. Our photos are also available through research repositories.
