Who We Are

Ross Becker and Moira Fraser are a husband and wife team, working towards a better life with more love, laughter and adventures.  We focus upon spending time with family and friends, living an active lifestyle, and work which contributes to society.  We want to be open to adventures, at home in NZ’s great outdoors and overseas when opportunity presents itself.

Early on in our journey towards a better life, Ross was commissioned by the National Library to document in photographs, the impact of the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 and the recovery from them.  Moira joined Ross in this work to digitally curate the photographs and share them with those who love Christchurch.  Our professional skills as photographer, librarian and engineer contributed research collections with rich contextual metadata to identify the changes over time and a mix of human and machine readable tags to make them easier to find and use.  You can find out more about this project in this documentary made by final year broadcasting students, Conor Bowden and Michael Allan, from CPIT.

Our next big adventure took us to Myanmar where we lived for 3 years while Moira worked as an international parliamentary consultant in the Parliament of Myanmar.  It was an extraordinary time to be working in their parliament as the promise of greater democracy and free choice of leaders was being realized.  We loved the gentleness and tolerance of the people and exploring the beautiful landscapes and temples.

Following on from Myanmar, the next adventure to present itself was living for 6 months in Yorkshire, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  Our work in a B&B gave us time most days to explore this spectacularly beautiful corner of the world on foot and by bicycle.

Now we are back home in NZ, we continue to explore our own backyard, on foot and by bicycle and to share these experiences.
